Measure H and I
On June 12th, the South Monterey County High School District Board of Trustees unanimously placed Measure “H” the High School Academic and Job Training and Measure “I” the High School Safety and Repair Measure on the November ballot. If enacted, Measures “H” and “I” would expand job training programs, upgrade school safety, and security, and retain and attract high quality teachers at our local high schools.
If enacted, Measures “H” and “I” would help our local high schools expand and improve innovative career technical and medical pathways programs. These programs promote hands-on learning and help train young people for important careers after high school, including agriculture, public safety, medical, computer science, engineering, and information systems.
Measures “H” and “I” could provide local funding to address local educational priorities such as retaining and attracting high-quality teachers, removing hazardous materials like asbestos, mold and lead paint, ensuring all schools are accessible for students with disabilities, providing classrooms to help students prepare for careers in technology, upgrading security cameras, improving student safety and providing hands-on education and training facilities to help prepare students for good-paying jobs after graduation.
